Clark Butson founder of Polar Aviation had a clear and strong vision:

To unite isolated communities of the province of Pilbara in Western Australia.

Since 1981, Polar has connected Pilbara communities to the world using its aeroplanes. During this time the company grew from a charter and training business to a burgeoning airline in the region, owning its own turbine aircraft, hangars at multiple bases.

Company missions include:

Flight Training for recreational and professional pilots.
Search and Rescue missions.
Student transportation
Cargo supply runs
Mining FIFO rotations and Mustering or cattle spotting. Scenic
flights and tours in the Pilbara region.

The company approvals:

Airline and Charter flying.
Maintenance for turbine and piston aircraft.
Flight Training for the purposes of licences and ratings.

Clark Butson founded an airline in the heart of Australia`s arid desert. Its goal: to unite the isolated communities of the province of Pilbara, in the west of the country. Here, the airplane is the only link with the rest of the world. And Clark has a lot to do to on his missions. Rescues, student transportation, supplies, rotations between mines, visiting aboriginal communities. Clark also helps farmers during "mustering," a massive operation to gather their thousands of cattle scattered over hundreds of kilometers in the bush.
